St Barbe is an independent museum, art gallery and charity.
It generates funds each year from admission charges, charitable trusts and foundations, local authorities and generous individuals. With these funds St Barbe cares for Lymington’s local history collections, maintains the historic buildings it resides in, presents inspiring new exhibitions and runs educational activities for people of all ages. St Barbe thanks all these donors and grant-makers, and the 150 volunteers, without whom the museum would not exist.
St Barbe could not have achieved all that it has without the support of its donors and supporters.
We are now looking to the future – preparing for the next 20 years and beyond by improving its facilities, attracting greater and more diverse audiences, caring better for its collections and building an endowment fund to contribute revenue in future years.
St Barbe will continue to be dependent on its donors and supporters.
Donors and volunteers are the heart of the museum and art gallery. Their generosity created St Barbe, maintains it, and will prepare it for the next decades.
