A letter from our Director, Maria Ragan

23 March 2020

St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery closed temporarily from Monday 23 March until further notice     Dear Friends,    Following the latest advice from Public Health England regarding the coronavirus, I have  taken the difficult decision to close the museum temporarily. The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority.    All exhibitions, events and activities have been postponed and we will be rescheduling over the coming months. We will let you know when the programme has been updated and we are ready to re-open.

We will remain active behind closed doors; staff will continue to work researching and caring for our collections; improving our documentation; developing collections management; reorganising our off-site storage and working on new and exciting exhibitions. We will continue to monitor our building and collections during this period.

If you have any queries at all, please contact me directly,  maria.ragan@stbarbemuseum.org.uk

For now, we wish everyone well and would like to thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. We would also like to extend a special thank you to our volunteers for their continuous support
