St Barbe’s Summer Bash HAF

Great news! We have been awarded funding to run the Summer Healthy Food and Holiday Activities (HAF).

Now open to everyone… One child £10 / Two children £15 / Three + children £20 – including lunch! But FREE to those who meet the criteria below,

The HAF programme is open to school aged children that meet the eligibility criteria:

  • Benefit related free school meals
  • Ukranian and Afghan Refugees
  • Children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Other vulnerable children
New Forest National Park

The activities run for four days each week 11.30am-3.30pm throughout August. Two days each week will be specifically for families (5+ an adult is required to accompany them, younger siblings welcome) and two days for 11-16 years old (no adult required).

Each day we run the activities you can find below and provide a hot meal, snacks and lots of fun.

We are lucky enough to be working alongside some great teams this Summer and have some fantastic activities lined up.

We are grateful to our venue partner, Lymington Community Centre and Hampshire County Council for providing the funding to allow the activities to go ahead.

Mon 1 August: FAMILY DAY: New Forest National Parks Authority ‘All about Beaks’ – Learn about the New Forest’s rare birds through games, challenges and creativity

Wed 3 August: 11-16 Yrs: Forest Forge Theatre Workshop – Discover the secrets of the museum collection through a creative drama workshop.

Thurs 4 August: FAMILY DAY:  Junk Percussion. Make percussion instruments using junk, followed by a percussion workshop culminating in a dinosaur themed performance

Fri 5 August: 11-16 Yrs: Munch Cookery Workshop. Learn about nutrition and healthy eating choices. Cook a recipe followed by lunch, take home extra to share. Please note this takes place 10.30am – 2.30pm

Mon 8 August: FAMILY DAY: Forest Forge Theatre Workshop – Discover the secrets of the museum collection through a creative drama workshop.

Wed 10 August: 11-16Yrs: New Forest National Parks Authority ‘New Forest Explorers’ – Tackle a team challenge and discover Britain’s protected landscapes.

Thurs 11 August: FAMILY DAY: Karate/ Self-Defence workshop. See a Karate demonstration and learn about Karate and take part in a workshop to learn self-defence techniques.

Fri 12 August: 11-16Yrs: ‘Spread the word’. Learn about the impact of slogans and how they can be used effectively. Create your own slogans and badges to express yourself.

Mon 15 August: FAMILY DAY: New Forest national Parks Authority ‘Plastic not fantastic’ – Look at the impact of litter in the New Forest and how can we help. Try nurdling and create a litterbug.

Thurs 18 August: FAMILY DAY: Karate/Self-Defence workshop. See a Karate demonstration and learn about Karate and take part in a workshop to learn self-defence techniques.

Fri 19 August: 11-16 Yrs: Clay Tiles – Get creative designing and creating your own clay tiles.

Mon 22 August: FAMILY DAY: Forest Forge Theatre Workshop – Take part in a creative drama workshop based on the museum’s exhibition.

Wed 24 August: 11-16 Yrs: Karate/ Self-Defence workshop. See a Karate demonstration and learn about Karate and take part in a workshop to learn self-defence techniques.

Thurs 25 August: FAMILY DAY: Junk Dinosaur Workshop. Let your imagination run riot and create your own dinosaur from junk and scrap.

Fri 26 August: 11-16Yrs: Munch Cookery Workshop. Learn about nutrition and healthy eating choices. Cook a recipe followed by lunch, take home extra to share. Please note this takes place 10.30am – 2.30pm
