Lymington Museum Trust
St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery is an independent organisation governed by Lymington Museum Trust, a registered charity (no.1018779). Since opening in its finished form in 1999, it has acquired a reputation as one of the finest museums and art galleries in the region.
Now the museum and gallery is entering an exciting new era; a £2 million project to transform the building, dramatically improve what it offers local people and tourists, and secure its long-term future. The Heritage Lottery Fund believes this project is a priority and has committed £1.47 million in financial support.
'St Barbe is well-established and well-loved, particularly for its national quality exhibitions. We are keen to provide a landmark venue for the town, to build on our past successes, and to place community engagement firmly at the heart of all we do.'
Mark Tomlinson, Museum Director
