Description

Summary: butter churn, tinned metal. Cylindrical tall tin shape into turning mechanism on lid. Wooden handle. Used by Thomas and Mabel Linney at Downlands Farm, Linnies Lane, Sway for themselves and to sell in farm shop. Shop records go back to 1918 (T.L. exempt from army as a farmer in WW1).

Identification note: See info in Object Information File. Churn c. 1910s? Wooden paddles inside the container. (Farm is near Sway Tower)
