Description

Summary: copy photograph, black and white, Milton Hotel, from a postcard

Identification note: Milton Hotel was built soon after the railway arrived, by Hugh Wyeth, a Winchester brewer who clearly spotted the potential offered by the new station. The hotel was an important meeting place in the town’s early days. It was later renamed the Speckled Trout, but was pulled down in 1998 and the site redeveloped as a health centre.
