Identification note: Mr and Mrs Novelle sorting parcels outside the Post Office by the Station, Christmas 1906. Also pictured here is Mr Patience the postman, who continued to be post master until 1922. This Post Office was previously run by Mrs Newhook who is credited as first adding the ‘New’ to Milton, a name officially taken up by the railway in 1897.
