Identification note: Gallienus ruled the empire jointly with his father Valerian from AD 253, and solely from 260, when he continued to issue coinage in the name of his wife Salonina. He defeated the Goths in 268, who had invaded across the Danube in huge numbers, but was murdered by his officers shortly afterwards.
