Description

Summary: digital image, scan of sepia postcard, lake at Walhampton House

Identification note: A water tower was constructed to achieve adequate water pressure, to cope with the demands of all the water features in the garden. It was fed from a pump, operated by a gas engine located in the Chinese Boathouse at the end of the Glade. This again points to Peto as the designer since he was known to have designed several garden buildings with an oriental flavour.
