Summary: christmas card with envelope to Dorothy Underwood from Major George, S.A. Paymaster, Bombay. Dated 1922. Part of a collection of Christmas cards, series of 14, in original envelopes, sent to Dorothy M Gale from Major George Paymaster, 11 when he was Roumanian consul in Bombay and 3 predating this appointment, many referring to happy memories in 1914 and 1915 of Barton-on-Sea, New Milton, and Lymington, Lymington and Pennington, Hampshire, 1925=1937

Summary: Mrs Gale's correspondent probably one of the Indian soldiers who convalesced in the Lymington area during World War I (see 1991.41), and presumably an honorary consul in Bombay.

Summary: Mrs Gale was married to H W H Gale of Flanders Farm. Her parents were licensees of the The Crown Inn at Everton during World War I.
