Description

Summary: photograph, sepia, rowing boat ferry, sailing and steam ships moored to quay, and river near Lymington Quay, Lymington, Lymington and Pennington, Hampshire

Identification note: The collier, Royal Firth, discharges her cargo of coal at the wharf which lay to the south of the Town Quay (now a car park and public conveniences). In the foreground is the little Walhampton Ferry, rowed by Billy Cruse, making its way towards the Quay. The roof of the yacht building yard is clearly visible to the far left. A smaller vessel, the barge Myrtle, lies moored along the larger vessel.
