Description

Summary: photograph, sepia, Milton Schools, old velox print 1836-1919, pulled down in 1931

Identification note: stood to the east of the George on corner of roads. The National School was built in 1835 for the Church of England National Society and served as the Infant and Junior School until 1919 when it moved to old army huts in Gore Road. The Schools were on an island in the middle of the road, but were demolished in 1931. The picture shows a van driving in from the Lymington direction.
