Identification note: collection of items relating to Wilfred Harry Hayter of Pennington. Born 12.5.1917. Known as Real until he enlisted in the army.

Identification note: items found on clearance of house. No relatives. Mother's name Hayter, father's name Real. Wilfred changed his name on joining the army as only mother's name was on birth certifcate-married father later.

Identification note: the following photographs show Wilf Hayter in khakhi uniform and probably relate to World War Two. He was in France, Burma and particularly Tunisia and Algeria, so difficult to know the location of each photograph
