Plans for 2019
20 December 2018
The new year brings exciting and busy times for the Friends as we work with Sir John de Trafford, new Chair of Trustees, and Maria Ragan, new Director of the Museum, to the Museum’s ambassadors all helping us reach out to the community and enriching people’s lives through heritage.
In 2019, not only will we have the usual interesting Talks programme but the Friends will be sponsoring the Oral History project; included especially as the project relates to the 100th anniversary of the founding of Wellworthy.
We will also be supporting our MC2 Club and hope that our Family Members will be involved with the success of the children's club.
We will be regularly reporting on these projects during the year.
Date for your diary! Open Gardens weekend will be on Sunday 2 June - we have some new interesting gardens for you to see.
New logo and Website development
You many have noticed the new Friends of St Barbe logo, which has been designed in house by Penny Curry. The concept is that we look related to the Museum’s own logo but retaining the Friends’ identity. In relaunching the Friends’ organisation, we have also given a home to the Patrons of St. Barbe, a growing body of people who are major supporters and, now, Friends of St. Barbe.
The Museum’s website is being redesigned so that there is a dedicated portal for the Friends, within which you will find online joining forms and Direct Debit (YES!), events and newsletters. Keep an eye out for your dedicated area
