Richard Shillitoe, an authority on Ithell Colquhoun, will introduce some of the themes that run through her work and illustrate how they are revealed in the paintings currently on display in the St Barbe exhibition Parallel Lives.

Ithell Colquhoun (1906-1988) was a British painter, novelist, essayist and poet. A major retrospective of her work will open at Tate St Ives in February 2025. Her work was deeply influenced by surrealism and her profound, frequently unorthodox, spiritual convictions. She drew inspiration from her dreams, her unconscious and from Otherworld sources.

Monthly Friends Talks take place at Lymington Baptist Church | Doors open 7pm | Talks start 7.30pm | ALL WELCOME | Friends donation | Guests £5
