Time: to

Climate Change and the New Forest

Friday 2 September | 7.30pm

Our speaker is Richard Daponte from Forestry England.

The New Forest is considered one of the prettiest landscapes in the country, it also has one of the most interesting histories. Unusually for a National Park, a good half of it is managed by Forestry England as part of the Public Forest Estate. Forestry England Ranger Richard Daponte will explain how the landscape came to be and how the government’s forestry agency came to manage it. He will throw light on the land management today, with its respect for the past while addressing the pressures of the present and the future.
