The House in the Wood, Beaulieu is not open to the general public, this is your opportunity to explore this enchanted garden – to get lost in with many twisting paths leading downhill to a beautiful pond and then investigate more formal layout of lawns around the house.
A peaceful 12-acre woodland garden constantly evolving and refining. It is very much a spring garden with tall, glorious mature azaleas and rhododendrons in every shade of pink, orange, red and white interspersed with acers and other woodland wonders.
We are lucky enough to be visiting at the peak time with all the flowers in bloom – it’s a rival to Exbury but exclusive for us!
The House in the Wood was used in the war to train the Special Operations Executives before their daring missions overseas which brings an extra layer of interest, who knows whose footsteps you are following?!
£15 including welcome drink and canapés
At 7pm Sir John de Trafford will be giving a brief talk about the fascinating history of the house.
