Magical Moths 27 July

Taking inspiration from the fascinating and wonderfully beautiful moths of the new forest you’ll make exciting drawings and art using ink and a range of drawing techniques to copy the incredible patterns moth wings display.

Animal Sketchbook 3 August

Calling all budding artists and nature enthusiasts! we will be running a workshop focused on the amazing new forest wildlife. Participants will make their own sketchbooks and will use interesting drawing techniques, collage and simple printing techniques to make images of the exciting animals in the WILD exhibition.

Botanical Illustration 10 August

Inspired by adventurous zoologists and botanists who explored the globe finding and recording rare and incredible specimens . With artistic and scientific illustrations you’ll work from observation to make your own beautiful botanical illustrations and artwork!

Plasticine Patterns 17 August

Plasticine prodigies reveal yourself! its time to explore the beautiful textures of natural objects and make some amazingly complex and beautiful patterns, you’ll use plasticine and ink to make and design your own exciting repeating patterns on paper.

Fish Hats 24 August

Want to be the latest fashion icon! Inspired by the fish of the Stunning Solent, Using what is called the “wax resist” Painting technique to create a shimmering, scaly fish hat that you can wear as a trendy and stylish hat

Drawing in the Dark 31 August

I Hope you have eaten your carrots! Drawing using only torchlight you’ll experiment with artists charcoal, to make dramatic, spooky shadowy pictures of animal bones.
