The Audacity of Drake – Singeing the King of Spain’s Beard!

Date:
Time:
Location: Lymington Baptist Church, New Street

A talk by Philip StLawrence

As England wakes to the threat of Spanish invasion in the spring of 1587, Sir Francis Drake, driven by his faith and his patriotism, sets sail to the Iberian coast.

Philip brings to life the drama of his audacious attack at Cadiz which delays the Armada by a year! But this is the story too of Drake’s daring at Sagres and his exploits at Lagos, Lisbon and the Azores-  an epic, thrilling tale of a leader loved by his men but not always by his officers!
