Description
Summary: digital image, scan of black and white photograph of a girl and boy outside a wooden chalet-style building, against which a bicycle is leaning. The girl, who is dressed in white, is probably Malthilde (Lalla) and the boy, dressed in a tweed suit with a straw boater, probably Gaston, daughter and son of Jules Duplessis by his first wife Emma. Jules Duplessis owned the Newtown Park estate.
Identification note: Images scanned from an album brought in by Hugo Duplessis and probably compiled by Fanny Peacocke, who was Jules Duplessis' second wife. The photos were probably taken by Jules who had developed a passion for photography. Part of 2011.124 intake but probably not thought interesting enough to be used at the time for the exhibition.
