Description

Summary: letter, to Hazel Pinder, thanking her for her work, from the TA and AF Association of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, 1945

Identification note: As so many men were away fighting, women took on new roles. ‘Land Girls’, who worked in the Women’s Land Army, helped to keep farms running and provide Britain with food. The Women’s Voluntary Service was formed in 1938 to assist local government in whatever way was needed. Their slogan was ‘The WVS never says No”.
