Summary: axe, hand axe, flint, 'bout-coupé', neatly worked on both faces, covered in black deposit, found in Lymington, Lymington and Pennington, Hampshire, c70,000-60,000BC (late Palaeoloithic)

Summary: Mousterian, from beginning of last glaciation. Black deposit on axe is typical of objects found in local streams. Beneath deposit there is a creamy patination.

Summary: Found by donor in his garden on edge of stream at Cowley's Copse when digging drainage ditches '6 to 10 years ago'.
