Description

Identification note: To the right is Bank Terrace, where Wilts & Dorset Bank moved to in 1904 from the west side of the road, later changing to Lloyds Bank. The building on the other corner, occupied Novelle & Co in this photo, later became the Wee Cake Shop (known in the 1970s as Patisseries Carles), owned by Mr & Mrs Charles. Subsequent business included PJ Patisserie and La Poussin. In December 1987 one of th employees of La Poussin, Alan Selby, took over the business and Selby's Bakery began trading.
