St Barbe for Ukraine

St Barbe providing practical help to Ukrainian refugees in Lymington

Individuals and organisations in Lymington and the surrounding area continue to respond to the plight of Ukraine by giving support to Ukrainian guests living in the New Forest.

St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery has well established links with schools, counselling services, food banks, other charities and community organisations. We are hosting English lessons for adults as well as supporting children through the HAF programme in the school holidays.

St Barbe has secured funds to run a project to capture oral histories from our Ukrainian guests living in the New Forest. The project will address their experiences of not just fleeing their homes but also their time here in the New Forest. We hope to work with young people (11-16) although feel it would be interesting to also have experiences from various age ranges. Please email ukraine@stbarbe-museum.org.uk if you would like to take part.

St Barbe for Ukraine are continuing to build a network of support to give Ukrainian families practical help as well as a warm welcome to the town and surrounding area. We are working in partnership with New Forest Homes for Ukraine (NFHU) in supporting our Ukrainian guests.

For lots of information on how to support our Ukrainian guests, particularly offers to host a family, go to www.newforesthomesforukraine.co.uk/.

St Barbe has set up a special email address for all enquiries about offering homes or other support services for Ukrainian refugees: ukraine@stbarbe-museum.org.uk
